Munro’s number 7 and 8

Did Munro’s number 7 and 8 today, I’m getting into this Hill bagging!

I know I didn’t post about 5 and 6, but tbh the pics were not that interesting.

Todays walk took me to the summits of Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers, they are in Perthshire near Killin. Ben Lawers is the 10th highest Munro standing at 3983ft. Reached the summit of Beinn Ghlas first it’s a bit of a slog, but aren’t they all, bit misty when we got there, but by the time we’d walked down along the small ridge or the Bealach as this is called, and climbed to the summit of Ben Lawers the sun was out and it ended up being a really good day.

Only had the compact with me today, but here are some pics, I liked them:-)

Munro’s three and four.

Sunday saw me claiming or bagging, as they say, two more Munros, Stob Dearg & Stob na Broige which make up Buachaille Etive Mor. I’m getting greedy, or is that daft!

The weather was ok, but a bit overcast, as you’ll see in the pics, so the views from the summits were not what they could be.

I’m told that scenes from the Bond movie Skyfall were filmed here, in fact I was stopped by a Japanese Tourist as I walked back to the car , who wanted to know were the filming took place, I obviously have the look of the secret agent about me!

Here’s the link to a description of the walk.

North Queensferry

Visited North Queensferry, which is on the Fife side of the Firth of Forth. I’ve taken photographs of the Forth Bridge from the Lothians side before, this was the first time from the Fife side.

This was the one I liked the most.

My First Munro

Last weekend after possibly imbibing to much whisky I agreed to go hill walking with friends , they are keen on this activity, it’s something I have never done before and never had the inclination to actually do, In the cold light of day I remembered the conversation but was hopeful they would forget, sadly I was mistaken!

So this morning off I went, heading for Meall Nan Tarmachan, which is one of Scotlands Munro’s, an explanation of what a Munro is can be found in the following link,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munro

here is a link to a description of the route I took.

Well I did it, I bagged my first Munro, if it’s my last, well who knows, you’ll find out in the months to come. Mean time here’s some pics from today’s adventure.

Edinburgh 10s Festival – 07/06/2014

Went to the Edinburgh 10s festival yesterday, played at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh.

I was there last year, but for those who’ve forgotten! It’s 10 a side rugby, so a cross between the normal 15 a side and the better known smaller version of the game, 7s.

An if I say so my self, looking at last years pics and the following ones, I think I have improved my photographic skills, but I suppose you’ll be the judge of that.

Passenger

Twitter works!

Noticed a tweet from the singer song writer Passenger saying he was Busking in Edinburgh today, before you think I’m cool I had to ask my teenagers who Passenger was. They seemed keen to go, so off we headed to the Royal Mile.

We found him next to St Giles Cathedral, with a crowd of 100 plus mainly teenage girls. He played for over an hour and got to be honest I enjoyed it.

The pictures,

Edinburgh Rugby v Munster 03/05/2014

Last home game of this season for Edinburgh, it didn’t go well!

We were on the wrong end of a 12 – 55 drubbing, praise the lord for alcohol, it numbed the pain somewhat!
