Swan update 4

Over a month since my last visit to see the local Swans.

Still 5 cygnets and they’ve grown loads in a month.

They didn’t pose to well today and the light was poor, I’m getting my excuses in early!

Swan Update 2

Been a month since my last update on our local Swans and their cygnets.

There are six cygnets now, think there were seven last month.

Swan update

Went back to see the swans I photographed at the end of May, sad news first, on that occasion there were 8 cygnets, now there are 7. But the 7 appear to be doing well, they are a fair bit bigger than last time.

Again they didn’t seem much bothered by me, but a dog came by at one point and I can confirm Swans do not like dogs, much hissing and wing flapping!

Swans their Cygnets and Ducks

I went back to look at the local Swans and they’ve now produced their young, they didn’t seem to mind me to much, but as you’ll see a couple of ducks got them a wee bit upset!

Swans

You may have noticed a couple of Swans in my Mid Calder post yesterday. I didn’t have a long lens with me an I didn’t want to get to close, so I returned later with a longer lens and here is the result.

Mid Calder, West Lothian

I had a stroll around the Village of Mid Calder, West Lothian today, I’ve photographed some of these places before, an I’ve been trying to get a decent picture of the War memorial for some time, not sure if this is it, but it’s better than my earlier efforts.

No photoshopping, other than reducing the size.

Got myself a new camera, this is the 2nd post using images taken with it, it’s my first DSLR, a Canon EOS 600D, so after my point and shoot and then a Bridge, hopefully folk will see an improvement in quality, I do, I think!

Actually I think I need to try capturing that War Memorial again!!!

Evening Stroll

Had an evening stroll, took a few photographs, decided I don’t live in the worst place in the world,

Kirk of Calder

Visited the Kirk of Calder a Church of Scotland church in the village of Mid Calder, think it’s somewhere I’ll revisit, not happy with the results, these two images are the best of a fairly mediocre bunch.
