I was driving on the A71 in North Lanarkshire, when I came to the town of Newmains, standing on and next to a busy roundabout junction are the two statues pictured, one is the towns war memorial the other a tribute to a local boxer, Jim Murray, who died as a result of injuries sustained during a boxing match.
The War Memorial is one of the best examples I’ve seen. I can only imagine that the young boxer was well respected locally to have this statue erected in his memory.
Lest we forget.
Not the best images, but I was illegally parked!!
