Photographs and other stuff

Don’t have long this morning, so just a quick  thought.

Out last night, I was stone cold sober, no drinking for this lad, it quickly became obvious that people are not to interested in the Governments safe drinking levels.

For most I don’t suppose its a big problem, but it must have some kind of effect on health and welfare, but on top of that are the added costs for society, the extra police on the streets around the drinking areas, the amount of rubbish casually deposited on the street by the revelers, common closes and door ways used as urinals, must be nice opening your front door to that aroma! Lastly of course the amount of resources used by the NHS to patch up the casualties.

Mind you next time I ‘m out I’ll be on the bevvie, an all thoughts of social responsibility will be washed away, I’m just in the huff today, nominated driver indeed.

  1. Alcohol, like any ‘relaxation’ is best within limits. Do you stop motorcycle or car racers from racing because some crash? They still have to be patched up, if possible, at the hospital. Football crowds and litter are synonymous, but I won’t drone on, you get the drift.

There are arguments for and against alcohol but drinking has become demonized because its the bad guys, or girls, who hit the headlines by hitting the pavements when drunk. Ok you don’t drink, smoke, have sex, ( drugs I’ve never had so don’t know) or any other vice or presumed vice, then what?

    • I was trying to be light hearted about the issue, as you can see from my post I do drink alcohol. My concern is that we as a society do have to put a tremendous amount of resources into supporting this legal drug, I’m not advocating bans or even legislation of any kind. I think the solution is education in an attempt to shift attitudes.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
